Best Gift Shops in Gainesville, Florida

Gainesville has several cute shops with local goods and artisan crafts—so many, in fact, that you may find it challenging to decide where to start your shopping! To help you with that decision, I’ll tell you about my favorite Gainesville gift shops and what makes them so special.

Table of Contents:

  • 108 Vine

  • THE AUK MARKET

  • Serpentine

  • Malgorzata’s

108 Vine

For locally made gifts and vintage household goods, check out 108 Vine. This lovely shop has everything from candles and soap to jewelry, clothing, and homewares. It’s got a little something for everyone—especially if you’re looking for a souvenir or piece of artwork with a local flare.

What makes this wonderful shop even more special is its small coffee shop located inside. They’ve got great coffee and tea, as well as locally made baked goods. My order is a matcha latte with one of their unique flavored syrups. 108 Vine allows you to enjoy something yummy to eat or drink while you shop.

THE AUK MARKET

THE AUK MARKET sells a variety of handmade items by local artists and artisans, as well as a unique selection of vintage clothing, furniture, and household goods. At this craft store, you’ll find everything from jewelry to artwork to wooden tables.

Fairly often, THE AUK MARKET holds craft fairs that bring in even more artists and artisan goods. Check out their events page to view upcoming pop-up markets and other events.

What makes this local gift shop even more special is its location on the same property as Curia on the Drag, a favorite coffee shop and bakery in Gainesville’s community—especially among vegans. Grab some coffee or tea and bring it over to THE AUK MARKET while you shop.

Serpentine

Another special local gift shop in Gainesville, Florida is Serpentine Plants + Provisions. What makes this shop unique is its incredible selection of plants and pots—which the staff will help you put together if you like. The shop also carries a nice selection of wine, beer, and other drinks, as well was some eclectic household goods and greeting cards.

Serpentine is a great place to purchase a local gift in Gainesville, Florida, especially if your gift-receiver is a plant-lover. The staff will help you decide which plant is right for you, and will let you know what you need to do to care for it. At this shop, you have the potential to purchase a really thoughtful and unique local gift.

Also, be sure to check out Serpentine’s workshops and other events.

Malgorzata’s

Malgorzata’s is an international artisan goods shop located in Gainesville’s Thornebrook Village.

The owner travels the world to find unique handmade arts and goods. The store sells a variety of incredible crafts from around the world, including clothing, jewelry, wallhanging artwork, lamps, candle-holders, and much more.

Malgorzata’s offers a selection of international artisan goods unlike any other store in Gainesville, Florida. The shop is a must-see for people looking to buy unique gifts.

Recommendations for Gainesville Gift Shops

Gainesville is home to many more gift shops than the ones I mentioned. This post includes a list of my four favorite places to purchase local and international art and handmade goods in Gainesville, Florida. These are my top four recommendations for local shopping in Gainesville.

If you visit the four shops in this list, you’ll get a nice selection of goods that won’t overlap much (if at all) from store to store. You might also enjoy some tasty snacks along the way!

Happy shopping!
