My Top Favorite Vegan Restaurants in Raleigh, North Carolina

Raleigh, North Carolina has some stellar options for vegan eats. Whether you’re looking for something raw and healthy or vegan junk food, this guide should help you find the vegan eatery (or vegan-friendly eatery) that’s right for you! So if you’re searching for the best place in the Triangle to get a vegan meal, read this article to see my top favorite picks!

In no particular order, here are my favorite places to eat vegan food in Raleigh, North Carolina!

Fiction Kitchen

If you’re vegan and visiting or living in Raleigh, Fiction Kitchen is a must-try vegan restaurant. They use farm-to-table, local ingredients. And their menu is the perfect mix (in my opinion) between healthy, veggie-filled options and plant-based comfort food.

They create a cozy vibe in the restaurant, so Fiction Kitchen is great for a date night or a night out with friends. The place is just simply phenomenal.

Pure Vegan Cafe

Pure Vegan Cafe serves incredible vegan junk food that doesn’t feel too heavy, along with more traditional healthy options. The restaurant is 100% vegan, and the food is so tasty, it’s a great fit for folks with a wide range of diets. They have great gluten-free options, too!

The menu at Pure Vegan Cafe ranges from breakfast foods, to sandwiches and burgers, to wings and drumsticks, to salad bowls, to Indian dishes. I recommend the Southern Comfort, a breakfast sandwich with vegan sausage, vegan egg, vegan cheeze, and honey mustard served on an English muffin.

Irregardless

For folks with all types of diets, I can’t recommend Irregardless enough. They serve fresh, local foods, and their menu changes seasonally. Their menu clearly labels vegan and gluten-free items, as well as dishes that can be changed to accommodate these dietary restrictions.

Irregardless has a wonderful, cozy atmosphere, too. The restaurant has large windows that bring in gorgeous natural light. And they regularly hire local musicians to play dinner-friendly music during the evenings. I’ve loved each of my trips to Irregardless.

Raleigh Raw

If you’re looking for a healthy vegan option, this may be the place for you. Raleigh Raw is not 100% vegan, but they do have incredible options. Their impressive menu includes fresh smoothies and smoothie bowls, wellness shots, poke bowls, and avocado toast. They also make their own almond milk and coconut milk—both of which are delicious! (I recommend them with their iced matcha latte.)

This is a great place to bring your non-vegan friends, since Raleigh Raw serves eggs and fish (smoked salmon and raw tuna and salmon). Raleigh Raw is also allergy-friendly for folks with allergies to gluten, dairy, and soy, since they don’t serve any of these products. (The gluten-free avocado toast is fantastic!).

Raleigh Raw is conveniently located in downtown Raleigh. So it’s a great place to stop for a healthy vegan bite to eat if you’re exploring the area. Check out their menu here.

Lucky Tree

I found Lucky Tree recently, and I was so happy I did! The coffee shop and bakery is not 100% vegan, but they have some excellent options. This is also a great place for healthier options for vegan baked goods, since some of the items they serve have very little sugar.

In addition to their tasty drinks and baked goods, Lucky Tree has a great atmosphere for studying or meeting up with a friend.

Now go out there and try all of these excellent vegan options Raleigh has to offer!
