Weekend in Copenhagen Travel Budget
I loved my weekend trip to Copenhagen. I made the most of my weekend by sightseeing as much as I could during the daylight hours (which are quite limited during winter, when I visited). Even in the cold, I really enjoyed the city, its architecture, and its sights.
That said, traveling on a budget in Copenhagen is quite difficult, because prices are quite high. That’s the reason I only spent two nights there; it’s just so expensive!
Still, I did my best to keep costs as low as possible during my Copenhagen travels by eating at cheaper restaurants and walking everywhere rather than paying for transportation.
In this post, I share the breakdown of the budget for my weekend trip to Copenhagen. Keep in mind that I was very budget conscious during the whole trip, and it took a lot of effort to keep costs as low as I did.
Please note: I list the prices in USD below, but conversion rates vary over time. If you’re budgeting for your own travels to Copenhagen, be sure to check conversion rates around the time you’ll be traveling.
Budget: Weekend in Copenhagen

I only used public transportation—or any transportation other than my legs for that matter—going to and from the Copenhagen airport. It cost $5.11 on the way from the airport into central Copenhagen, and it cost $5.12 from Copenhagen back to the airport at the end of my trip. (The difference in prices here are due to changing conversion rates.)

My hostel in Copenhagen cost a total of $49.46 for two nights in an all-female room with six beds. The hostel, called Sleep in Heaven, was located a good 30 minute walk from the center of the city. I chose this hostel for a cheaper option.

All together, my food and drinks for the entire trip, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks cost $101.73. I spent around half of this on my second day in Copenhagen, since I only arrived in time for dinner on the first day and I left before dinner on the last day. And I ate at some of the cheapest restaurants I could find.
Total → $111.96
