Budget for My Four-Day Trip to Amsterdam

Amsterdam is a stunning Dutch city, and I loved the four days I spent there. I traveled to Amsterdam in winter, but I found the city so beautiful that the cold didn’t even bother me too much. (Although, I wore a really warm coat the whole time!)

Traveling to Amsterdam can get a bit expensive, so it took a lot of care and planning to travel on a budget there. During my four-day trip to Amsterdam, I did my best to cut costs where I could while still making sure I got to see the things I wanted to see. Mostly, that meant eating at cheaper restaurants. And getting an Amsterdam Travel Ticket also helped. (I purchased a three-day unlimited travel pass that allowed me entry onto all public transportation within the city of Amsterdam—not including transit leaving the city.)

Here, I share the breakdown of the budget for my four-day trip to Amsterdam. Again, when looking at my travel budget, please keep in mind that I made a lot of effort to keep costs as low as possible.

Please note: I list the prices in USD below, but conversion rates vary over time. If you’re budgeting for your own travels to Amsterdam, be sure to check conversion rates around the time you’ll be traveling.
